Chinese Theater Pics

** Click Here To View Photos **

The largest collection of Chinese Theater pics is hollywoodphotographs.com.  There are scores of fabulous photos of everything from a steamshovel digging the foundation for the theater to tourist looking at the many hand and footprints in the cement.  There are many Chinese Theater pics of the front of the theater, the ushers, the interior and the remodeling that took place in 1979.   One of the rare photos in the collection is of Charles Toberman and Sid Grauman.  It was Toberman who built the Chinese Theater for Sid Grauman in 1927

The photos featured are printed in black and white, and are still of superb Quality. Included in the Chinese Theater pics are the pictures of the man behind the Chinese Theater, Mr. Sid Grauman. A few pictures of other people like Mr. Tedd Mann, Mr. Jerry Fairbanks, and Jesse Pizante (the official photographer) are also printed and posted for viewing. Other unique Chinese Theater photos have also been uploaded and the most magnificent is certainly the pictures of the ushers of the theater during its opening year in 1927. The male and female ushers of the theater during the premiere screening of Cecil B. DeMille's film, The King of Kings, have been dressed in the traditional Chinese costumes and have looked very fabulous, even in a black and white print.

In a separate web site category titled, Hand and Footprint Ceremonies/Chinese Theater, are over 150 great photos of some of Hollywood’s greatest stars placing their hands and feet in the cement in the theater’s forecourt.  There are photographs of such great celebrities as Julie Andrews, Fred Astaire, George Burns, Jackie Cooper, Doris Day, Rex Harrison, Susan Hayward, Dean Martin, Sophia Loren, Marliyn Monroe and Jane Russell, Gregory Peck, Clint Eastwood, Betty Grable and Helen Mirren

In a separate web site category, titled Premieres, are wonderful pictures of many celebrities attending spectacular movie premieres at many theaters, including the Chinese Theater.  Some of these photographs include such stars as Clark Gable and his wife Kay, Dick Powell and June Allison, Zsa Zsa Gabor and Ann Miller, Rhonda Fleming, Mae West and Barbara Streisand. In addition, there are premiere photographs showing the front of the theater with searchlights crisscrossing to the sky. There are premiere photographs of such movies as the 1929 film “Moroco”, the 1930 movie “Hells Angels”, and the 1955 film “A Man Called Peter”.

Because the majority of Chinese Theater pics are of a historic nature, almost all are in black and white.  The photos are easily viewed by logging onto hollywoodphotographs.com and clicking on the Chinese Theater category.  All photos are available for purchase for both personal and commercial use. We invite you visit hollywoodphotographs.com and look at more than 6000 historic photos of Hollywood. There are over ninety subject categories from which to view.  It is the largest collection of photographs on the subject of Hollywood, including Chinese Theater pics.
