Browse thousands of historic Hollywood pictures including such landmarks as the Hollywood Bowl, the Hollywood Sign, Hollywood Canteen and many more. has the largest number of Hollywood pictures than any other collection in the world.  With more than 12,000 photos in the  collection has placed over 6,000 photos on its web site.

The web site pictures have been divided into ninety subject categories so that viewers are able to select and view with ease.  In addition to the photos, there is a brief history of each category and a blog section that describes many of the photo categories.

All the Hollywood pictures are available for purchase -- either in digital format or actual photographic prints.  Purchases can made for both personal and commercial use.

Some of the earliest pictures show Hollywood as a quaint, sleepy community with small farms of orchards and fields.  Later pictures show the rapid growth that Hollywood experienced when the early movie film companies settled there.  Photos of such film makers as Christie Film Co., Century Film Co., Lasky Feature Play Co., and Fine Arts Studio are just a few of the hundreds of motion picture studio images in the collection.

As Hollywood’s population increased so did the need for all the necessary infrastructures, businesses and services that were required by it’s citizens.  Hotels, restaurants, theaters, residences, new streets, were just a few of the improvements made  as Hollywood experienced explosive growth.

The Hollywood Hotel, built shortly after the turn of the century, faced serious competition from the glamorous Roosevelt Hotel, built in 1927. Wonderful restaurants as the Brown Derby and Musso and Frank Grill were popular eateries during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Hollywood boasted of some of the largest and most elaborate movie theaters in the world.  The five “movie palaces” were all located on Hollywood Blvd. and included Grauman’s Chinese Theater,  Grauman’s Egyptian Theater, El Capitan Theater, Pantages Theater and Warners Theater.

The most elegant and lavish nightclubs were located on the Sunset Strip, just west of Hollywood’s westerly boundary.  Even though, technically, they weren’t located in Hollywood, everyone in Hollywood considered these nightspots “their own”.  The most popular were Cafe Trocadero, Ciro’s and Mocambo.  Some of the most popular pictures of celebrities were taken when they visited these glamorous nightclubs.

Other subject categories of Hollywood pictures include Restaurant/Nightclubs, Studios, Garden of Allah Hotel, Gilmore Field, Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood Blvd.  All of the Hollywood pictures on the web site are available fore purchase.
